Chris “Clarence” M. Christy, born July 5, 1937, passed away quietly at home May 5, 2016. Chris is survived by his wife of 59 years Jacquelyn “Jackie” Christy and their three daughters, Deborah Judy (Jeff),
Gayle Christy and Cynthia Dorwart. Chris and Jackie have 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Harry Christy and his three brothers, Art, Maxie and John Walter (Red). Chris was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. Chris served four years as a Machinist Mate 1st Class on the USS Intrepid. He was also a proud member of Longshoreman’s Union. After serving his country, Chris embarked on a long and distinguished career as a professional driver, working for several prestigious companies. He was recognized multiple times for his stellar safety record and he was the proud recipient of the Million Miles Achievement Award. For all friends and family there will be a viewing Monday May 9th from 5-8 pm at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, where service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10th with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Delaware, Ohio.
