Charles E. “Charlie” Prater, age 90, born May 1,1926 in Eastern, KY, passed away on March19, 2017 at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Opal; son, Jim (Terry) Prater, daughters, Sue VanWalsen, Jane (Doug) Rowland, Diana (Jack) Wollett; grandchildren, Vicki Shepherd, Doug & Angie Rowland, Phil & Jeff Rodgers, Matt & Jack Wollett; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and brother, Hershel Prater. He is preceded in death by daughter Mary Holderby, parents Ella & William Prater, grandson Jimmy Prater, brothers, Jerry & Ron Prater, sister Marcela Farmer. Charlie was a UAW auto worker and retired from General Motors where he worked for 30 years. He was a long time member of the Oakland Park Conservation Club and loved to fish & hunt. His famous saying was “Is that right” or “you don’t say”. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. followed by a service at 1:30 p.m., Rev. David Hogg, officiating. Private interment.
