Charles R. Gebhardt, age 70, of Westerville, passed away Tuesday January 29, 2013 at home. Born in Carbondale, PA. At the age of 10 the family moved from Buffalo, NY to Columbus, OH. Graduated from Grandview Heights High School and from The Ohio State University with a BA degree in Civil Engineering in 1964. Chuck then entered and ultimately became an expert in traffic engineering and worked continuously for the State of Ohio until retirement in 1993. Chuck loved to play golf and worship the Lord. Chuck was full of so much joy and happiness that he couldn’t wait to share it with others. No one was ever a stranger to him. He encouraged everyone with a thumbs up and looking good, looking real good. Preceded in death by parents Richard V. and Katherine Gebhardt. Survived by daughters, Kelly Kissler of Columbus, Kim (Paul) Winigman of Sunbury and Elizabeth (Shawn) Carr of Sterling,Virginia; grandchildren, Amanda, Meghan, Sierra and Nicholas; brother, Frank Gebhardt of California; several nieces and nephews. Eucharistic service dedicated to Chuck and interment will be held at 12 noon February 22, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 East Broad Street Columbus, OH. On February 23, 2013 family will receive guests from 1-2 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. February 23, 2013 at the Ellsworth Chapel, Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 South Sunbury Road Westerville, OH. Arrangements by the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Trinity Episcopal Church or American Cancer Society.
