DUFFEY
Charlie Duffey, age 86, of Galena, OH died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Born in Cambridge, OH September 10, 1925. Founder of Shamrock Towing in 1952. Charlie loved sports, a race car enthusiast, volleyball and an OSU Football usher on C Deck for over 50 years. Active with Barbershop Quartets and the Singing Buckeyes. Charlie loved animals. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen; children, Pat, Tim, Mike (Beth), George (Luanne) and Denny Duffey, and Sue (Scott) Shively; grandchildren, Jason, Jed, Zach (Lauren), Emily, Bree (Ryan), Luc, Logan, Jozy, Damon (Kristin), Paige, Ciara (Travis), Janae, Drew, Murphy, Isabelle, Dustin (Sharon), Nick, Joey and Emma; great-grandchildren, Riley, Balin, Alyssa, Adriana, Micheal, Azrael and Aurora. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville Monday 5-8 p.m.. Service will be held at Xenos Christian Fellowship, 1340 Community Park Drive, Columbus, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Doug Patch, officiating. Interment Northlawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware County Humane Society or Mt. Carmel Hospice.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Duffey family. I was fortunate to have worked with Charlie for so many years at Shamrock. I am grateful for all the fond memories I have. He will be missed.
