NOWICKI


Bruce Edward Nowicki, Sr., age 71, of Westerville, formerly of Galena, passed away October 31, 2014 at Kobacker House. Formerly employed by O.S.U. and retired as a computer programer/systems analyst. Graduate of O.S.U., where he was MVP of the volleyball team, and Devry University. Lifelong member of the Y.M.C.A.. Devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to travel and enjoyed all sports including coaching. He was strong but quiet and never met a stranger. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie; children, Carolyn (Fred) Schneider, Bruce E. Nowicki, Jr., Charlie (Leah) Nowicki and Megan (Eric) Sheumaker; grandchildren, Tyler, Lucy, Kaylee and Eleanor; brothers, Lyle (Jaci) and Jim (Sue) Nowicki; sister, Di Nowicki; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leona Nowicki. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 6-8 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Fr. David E. Gwinner, celebrant. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kobacker House.
