Bonnie, 86, peacefully went to the Lord Jesus with family nearby. Born in Hayti, Missouri, she grew up in Detroit, Michigan, raised a family in Westerville, Ohio, then retired to Florida and California. Bonnie was a strong woman who rose from difficult beginnings. Marrying at 16, she was devoted to her husband of 51 years, sons, and especially her grandchildren. She was drawn to children. Bonnie loved to travel, riding several times across the continent on the back of a motorcycle. Preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Doris Ball, husband James J. Gillis, son Russell A. Gillis, brothers Winfred (Betty) Ball and Jerry Ball. Survived by her son James D. (Sharon) Gillis, daughter-in-law Julia Gillis, brother David Ball, sister-in-law Nancy Ball, grandchildren Jennifer (Adam) Graham, Daniel (Heather) Gillis, Clinton (Beth) Gillis, Brian (Heather) Gillis, Nicole Gillis, and Patrick Gillis along with nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held on August 23, 2025 at Haven Community Church, 10350 Northwest Parkway, Marysville, Ohio at 1 pm. Pastor Brian Brooks presiding.
