Celebration of Life Monday, June 17th from 4-6 PM at Moreland Funeral Home

(Bonita) Gail Case Merrell was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024 with family and friends by her beside.

Gail is survived by her husband, Nelson Merrell of New Albany; son, Brian Merrell (Laura) of Westerville; daughter, Julie Merrell (David) of Westerville; grandchildren, Logan Merrell, Cole Merrell, Andrew (AJ) Coates, and Alison Merrell; brother, Dr. Jerry Case (Gail) of Savannah Georgia; nieces, Laura Wiley, Dr. Carla Case McCorvey, Christie Keebaugh, Ashley Case, and many friends and family.

She is predeceased by parents, Dr. Francis H. Case and Christine Case of Savannah GA; brother, Francis Horace Case of Savannah GA and daughter, Janice Merrell of Pataskala, OH.

Gail's greatest loves were God and her family. She enjoyed traveling with her devoted husband and loved to spend time gardening.

Gail graduated Cum Laude from Newberry College in South Carolina with a degree in Teaching and an emphasis in Spanish. She was a Realtor for Coldwell Banker for 25 years in Central Ohio and always considered her clients to be her friends. As a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westerville OH for 35 years she was an engaged community member that established deep roots for her family.

Gail's family invites you to attend a Celebration of Life at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville OH 43081 between 4PM and 6PM on Monday, June 17th, 2024.

Nelson and Family. I am so sorry to learn of Gail’s passing. We grew up together and I have wonderful memories of the great times we spent together. She was a great friend, and I treasure our friendship. She was a caring, loving person and will be missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Prayers for comfort, peace, strength, and treasured memories for you all.
