REYNOLDS
Beverly Ann Canode Reynolds, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at home in Dallas, Texas. She had several health concerns, not the least of which was a long struggle with bipolar disorder and its complications. Bev was born on March 1, 1942, to Melvin Francis Canode and Lucille Marie Denmead and spent her growing up years in Westerville, Ohio. A bright and beautiful young woman, she was crowned Miss Central Ohio in 1960; and although she was accepted into The Ohio State University, she entered the workplace before marrying Gary Wayne Reynolds two years later on August 9, 1964, in his hometown of London, Ohio. She then spent the next twenty years in Sandusky, Ohio, raising their four children- a time she recalled as her favorite. Although Bev’s illness regularly limited her activity and involvement, it never took away from her overall beauty. She lived with courage, humor, grace and thankfulness. Bev is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lucille, and her brothers, Bill and Dick, and sister-in-law, Faye. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Gary; children and grandchildren; Trisha (Pete) Tilden, Jonathan, Isaac, Samuel, Levi, and Anna of Zeeland, Michigan; Brenda Reynolds and Alexis Politz of Dallas, Texas; Krista (Clay) Norris, Olivia and Bridget of Richardson, Texas, and Vic (Amy) Reynolds, Amber, Briana and Carson of Denver, Colorado, as well as many other family and friends. A memorial service honoring Bev’s life will be held at Church of the Messiah United Methodist, 51 N. State Street, Westerville, Ohio 43081 on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2 p.m., Rev. Jim Wilson, officiating, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to UT Southwestern Medical Center for Bipolar/Depression Research, P.O. Box 910888, Dallas, Texas, 75391-0888 or the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 1225 Dublin Road, Suite 125, Columbus, Ohio, 43215 or www.namiohio.org.
