ECKARD
Bernice Marie Eckard, born May 14, 1916 and passed away peacefully on January 3, 2012. A long-time resident of Centerburg and most recently a resident of Centerburg Pointe. Graduate of Ashley High School. Former employee of Delaware County Home and partner in the family farm business. Member of Centerburg United Methodist Church. Bernice loved cooking, baking, gardening, sewing and caring for others. A friend to all she knew and made you feel special. Preceded in death by husband, Wilbert, parents Arthur and Ethel Staley, sister Joan Smith and brother Darrell Staley. Survived by her children; W. Jane Chesney of Houston, TX, Wilma Jean (Hubert) Nye of Reynoldsburg, James (Charlene) Eckard of Centerburg, Jerry Eckard of Columbus and Brenda Sue Clark of Centerburg. grandchildren; Mychal (Tina) Ritterhoff, Deborah (Dave) Nye-Ward, Brent Nye, Timothy (Gretchen) Nye, Steven Eckard, Lori (Clifton) McClintic, Randy Eckard, Joseph (Chanie) Hall, Elanda, G.J. and Julie Vom Baur; 10 great grandchildren. sisters; Norma Gardner of Navarre, FL and Ruth Wigton of Delaware, OH. Sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 49 West Church Street Centerburg, Sunday 6-8 p.m.. Graveside service and interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery Monday January 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Vicki Kelly officiating.
