Friends, neighbors and family of the late Bernard Vincent West are invited to celebrate his life at a service commemorating his time on here on earth and sharing memories on Saturday, April 29, 2017 11:00 AM at Zanesville First Church of the Nazarene. 5700 Martin Lane, Zanesville Ohio Reception following the service. Columbus, Ohio: Bernard Vincent West, 72 entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was born on July 29, 1944 in Zanesville, Ohio 15 minutes after his twin sister was born. He was one of seven children born to Bernard and Joyce West. In his youth he enjoyed the great outdoors with his buddy, Jack and took 4-H projects to the county fair. As a teenager he toured Europe with The Zanesville Youth Choir, played the marimba and was known to take a fast spin down Maple Avenue or Frazeysburg Road in his car. He was an Auxiliary Policeman for the City of Whitehall before moving to Lancaster, Ohio where he worked as a Draftsman for Anchor Hocking and eventually retired from DuPont. After retirement he worked for Lowes in Zanesville, Ohio. In 1969 he met the love of his life, Lenora Jean Gilgien and for the next 47 years dedicated his life to his faith and family. Vincent loved his four legged friends and had many hobbies, he was a member of the Fish Club, could fix anything and was an avid collector of just about everything (ask his family)! Left to cherish fond memories and remember his words of advice and wisdom are his wife, Lenora (Gee Gee) West, son, Tim (Tiffany) West and Daughter, Heather (Brett) Mills, adopted son, Ashton Romero Siblings: Twin Sister, Faith Lafollette, Tim (Becky) West, Joy Gammon, Joan (Tony) Spiegel, Jerrie (David) Strickling and Lisa (Jerry) Trotti. Grandchildren: Mira West, Ezekiel West, Alexus (Mike) Campbell, Blaine Marcum, Cayci Marcum, Payden Marcum, Jordan Mills, Kayleigh Mills, Malachi Marcum and appearing just in time to meet his namesake, great grandson, Oliver Lee Vincent Campbell. The family wishes to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses at Riverside Hospital, the team at Heartland of Westerville and Hospice for their care of Vincent during the last months of his life. Vincent will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville Ohio in a private ceremony for family with the celebration of Life Service on April 29th for all those who knew and loved him.
