Benjamin H. Stantz, 86, of Westerville died Tuesday April 21, in Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital. Born in Bucks Township, Tuscarawas County, he was the son of the late Francis Odessa Stantz. He attended the Ohio School for the Deaf and then spent his working career at Sunbury Mill in Sunbury, Ohio as a carpenter. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of the Deaf. He spent the last years of his life at Columbus Colony Elderly Care in Westerville, which caters to deaf and deaf/blind patients. While he had no children, he is survived by four great-nieces, one great-nephew, three great-great nieces and four great-great nephews. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Friday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., Pastor Edwin Bergstresser, officiating. Interment Trenton Cemetery, Condit, OH.
