Barbara Elaine Buttermore transitioned peacefully from her beautiful earthly home in Westerville, to her forever home with Jesus on December 23, 2016. Born January. 5th. 1944 to Raymond and Mary (Probasco) Cheney at the US Naval Hospital in Norfolk, Va. She was a Fifth Grade teacher in Westerville for several years before becoming a full time Mom. She later had a thriving Antique and Collectible business and helped her husband with his Insurance business, as his administrative staff. She loved playing tennis and skiing in her younger days and so loved traveling with her family. She insisted on seeing all 50 states, which she and Larry accomplished. She cherished her children and grandchildren and always was anxious to hear of their accomplishments. She loved The Lord and was a faithful member of Northside Fellowship Church in Westerville, and her Tuesday Night Small Group. In addition to her husband Larry, she will be deeply missed by her children, Angie (Rick) Burchfield of Gahanna; their daughters Kaitlyn and Megan; her son Drew (Angie) Buttermore of Westerville; sons Ian and Avery, and daughters Summer and Evie; her brothers; David (Tanya) Cheney of Denton, TX. and Tom (Shanda) Cheney of Gahanna; and nephew Kevin Cheney of Columbus. Carmel Hospice and Westerville Visiting Angels. Special thanks to Dr. Doug Fosselman and Barb’s advocate and Cardiologist, Dr. James Ryan. Arrangements are being handled by Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville, and online condolences can be made through www.morelandfuneralhome.com, or through the Columbus Dispatch. A Memorial celebration will be held on January 14th at Northside Fellowship Church 6841 Freeman Rd.
