It is with great sadness that the family of Alice M. Haas , age 86, of Westerville, Ohio announces her passing on January 10, 2024. She was born In Franklin Township, Ohio on October 25, 1937, to the late Clyde D. and Hazel (Bice) King. She graduated from Canton South High School.

Alice worked as an accounting clerk at the Timken Company before devoting herself to being a nurturing and wonderful mother to Debbie, born in 1961 and Krista, born in 1965. She supported both of them in their passions through college and beyond. She went back to work when her daughters grew older, first as a secretary for the Worthington Education Association and later as an accounting clerk at Worthington Industries, where she worked for many years, progressing to leadership and training roles in the Worthington Steel Division. Alice married Gerald R. Haas in 1960. Later in their marriage she raced Hobie catamarans with her husband and served as an officer in the local sailing club. She toured the Caribbean Islands and islands in the South Pacific.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debbie (Kamal) Narang of Anchorage, Alaska, and Krista Bucholz of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Maya Narang, Madison and Colton Bucholz; brothers, Hilton (Nellie) King, Richard (Wendy) King; brothers-in-law, Ron Haas, JIm Haas and sister-in-laws, Linda King, Pat Scott along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Jerry Haas, who died April 24, 2013, sisters, Evelyn (Bud) Bixler; Janet (William) Brock; brothers, Ralph, Wayne and Warren King; stepbrother, Chuck Piatt, a niece, Crystal Jordan; sister-in-laws Shirley King, Patricia Haas, Rose Haas and Robert J. and Florence Bucholz.

Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Thursday 5-7 p.m. where a celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Katy Wheat Borhauer officiating. Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.

My sincere condolences on the death of Alice. Years ago, me and my wife spent many evenings playing bridge with Alice and Jerry. Good friends and good times remembered.
