Dorothy J. Knudsen, affectionately known as Dottie, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in New Albany, Ohio, at the age of 84. She was born on December 3, 1941.
Born in Newark, Ohio, to Ross W. and Mary A. Loar, Dottie graduated from Newark High School. She dedicated many years of her career to business administration, working for the Limbauch Company.
Dottie moved to Columbus, where she married Paul Knudsen in 1977. They shared 28 wonderful years together. While she did not have children of her own, she cherished her nephew and his family as if they were her own.
Dorothy is survived by her nephew, Scott Handel, his wife, Michelle Handel, and their two children, Joshua and Kaitlyn Handel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Knudsen, her sisters, Judith Handel and Linda Miller, and her cherished dogs, Bridgette, Scarlet, and Susette.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the support and condolences received during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 29th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home where a service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment Pioneer Cemetery.
