Melissa Ann (Loudermilk) Stover, 54, of Columbus, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She is reunited in heaven with her late husband, Earl (J.R.) Stover, her father, Jim Loudermilk, and her grandparents. Melissas life was a testament to her selflessness. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others through her work, her dedication to her family and friends, and, above all else, her devotion to her sons, Brandon and Spencer. Melissas greatest joy came from raising her sons, and their happiness and success meant more to her than anything else. Melissa persevered through the challenges of motherhood and was a staunch advocate for her sons. She taught her boys the importance of believing in themselves and made sure to surround them with the support of family, instilling in them the qualities of kindness, loyalty, and love. In her 14-year career at Concord Counseling Services, Melissa was known by her coworkers as a gracious and knowledgeable friend. Through her important work, she was able to enrich the lives of countless people, both directly and indirectly. Melissa was a 1986 graduate of Big Walnut High School. She remained active in the Sunbury and Westerville area and loved spending time at her sons activities with Westerville Schools. She maintained life-long friendships, and always loved running into a familiar face. Melissa was also known as Betty to family and friends, part of an inside joke that highlights her sense of humor and the easy way that she connected with people. Betty was incredibly thoughtful, always sending a note or text just to let you know she was thinking about you and ending every conversation with a sincere Love Ya!. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Melissas passion for life and family is evidenced by her favorite quote. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. Harriet Tubman Melissa is survived by her sons Brandon and Spencer Stover, mother Sharon and stepfather Bill Loudermilk, sister Heidi (Matt) Moore, brother Tim Loudermilk (Fran Rocco), nephew Matthew (April) Moore, niece Jennifer Moore, great-nieces Hailey and Mellissa, and great-nephew Mason. She is also survived by fiance Kirk Delzell, his daughter Amanda (Joseph) and granddaughter, Grace. Melissa was very much loved and will be greatly missed by all. Friends, family, and loved ones are invited to a celebration of Melissas life on Saturday, August 21, 2021, between 2pm 4pm at: MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081, where there will be a prayer service to follow at 4pm to honor Melissa, and family and friends will be invited to gather at the home of Heidi and Matt Moore in Galena following the service. The family will gather for a private graveside internment service at a later date. Flowers, notes, and monetary contributions for Brandon and Spencer should be sent to the funeral home.
