About
Our History
The Moreland Funeral Home was founded in 1948 by Kenneth Moreland with great help from his wife, Dolores. Originally located in their home at 104 East College Avenue in Uptown Westerville, the Morelands moved to 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville in January 1973 to a building built specifically for a funeral home. Everything is located on one floor with ample parking and no steps. There are two large chapels and two lounges.
Kenny and Dolores’ sons, Jack and Robert joined the family business; Jack in 1966, after graduating from Otterbein College and The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and Robert in 1967, after attending Otterbein College and graduating from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Robert passed away in 2016. Jack is past president of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association (1991-1992). Jack’s son Tim joined the family business in 1996, after graduating from The Ohio State University and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
Now a third generation family run funeral home serving Westerville, Galena, New Albany and nearby Columbus families for over 60 years. The company’s motto is “Serving As We Would Be Served”. The Morelands have also believed in supporting their community since the beginning in many areas including churches, schools, civic associations and many other community projects.
