Eric A. “Rick” Messer, age 52, of Westerville, OH, passed away May 5, 2017 at Kobacker House. Retired from P & W Roofing. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time at his cabin in West Virginia. Rick was an avid golfer and loved all sports, especially the Oakland Raiders. Survived by his mother, Ruby J. Messer; children, Katie (Ricky) Harris and her children, Layla and Journey, Jayson McMullin, Sarah Reeser, and Samantha; step-children, Jenny Mullins and her son, Keegan; Bryan Parks and his daughters, Lexie and Amaya, Vanessa Parks and her daughter Aubrey; special friend Lisa Parks; brother, Elmer (Kathy) Messer, Jr.; sisters, Carol (Rick) Konkoskia; Sherry (Bob) Bragg and Jan (Brian) Dennis; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Elmer Messer, Sr.. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Randy Smith, officiating. Interment Fancher Cemetery.
