Linda Louise Sima Born January 13th, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loving family and minister on September 14th in Westerville, Ohio. Preceded in death by her awesome father Myron John Sima and survived by her loving mother Grace, brothers Myron and Kurt (wife Brenda) niece Emmalee, nephew Clark, and countless relatives and friends.
Linda graduated from Westerville South High School in 1973 and worked for 27 years at Harley Hotel and 16 years at Cheryl’s Cookies. Linda was a loyal servant of God and his son Jesus Christ as a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westerville since 1970.
A sport’s fan through and through, Linda rooted for the Browns, Indians, Cavs, Buckeyes, Westerville South Wildcats, Aurora Greenmen and Worthington Christian Warriors (her favorite player was Clark Sima #88). Win or lose, she stayed loyal to her teams and often engaged in spirited trash talk with Steeler, Bengals and Reds fans. In her mind she was merely trying to help these lost souls see the light and eventually root for her teams.
Linda had many special gifts including an unbelievable memory, a beautiful smile, an engaging laugh, remarkable fashion sense, and the ability to develop lifelong relationships with people in a very short period of time. A real people person, her father often said, “Linda did not know a stranger.” To say she had hundreds of friends is not an overstatement!
Linda loved animals, especially cats and dogs and developed special bonds with four-legged friends, Crackerbee, Jocko, Gemini, Gretchen, Cleo, Cliffie, Rocky, Chester, Stella and Ginger over the years. It was not unusual to see Linda reach into her purse to share a ball of yarn, some catnip or a dog treat with her furry pals. If she ever met your cat or dog she would be sure to ask how they were doing during a conversation.
Linda enjoyed music, especially classic country, oldies, Motown and Christmas carols-she would listen to these year around if possible.
Please join the family to share Linda stories, shed a few tears and some laughs on Friday, September 16 at Grace Lutheran Church 100 East Schrock Road, Westerville from 2PM-6PM and Sat 10AM-11AM , with a funeral service held Saturday at Grace Lutheran at 11AM with burial immediately following the service. Pastor Richard Walston officiating. Arrangements by MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, Westerville.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Grace Lutheran Church or The Delaware County Humane Society 4920 St. Rt. 37 East, Delaware, OH 43015.
