Jason “J Rock” Cox, age 36 of Gahanna, passed away Monday September 5, 2011 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Manager of Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Linworth. Attended Big Walnut High School. Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Richard Trotter and paternal grandmother Betty Cox. Survived by mother, Donna M. Trotter of Gahanna. father Gary L. Cox of Alliance, OH. Sister Melissa Cox of Heath, OH. nephew Brendon Cox; maternal grandmother, Mary E. Trotter; paternal grandfather Gerald Cox; step-sister Carolyn Brewer of Grove City; step-brother Bobby Burgess of Grove City; Special friend, Meredith Dancer; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME 55 East Schrock Road Westerville, Friday 6-8 p.m. where service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 10, 2011. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center.

I just learned of Jason’s passing last night and it saddened me. I am an old friend of his and Melissa’s both. I am very sorry for the loss and grief you are all feeling and you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I think of Melissa often also with fond memories. Time helps to heal the pain. I know from my own losses. Stay strong and hold on to each other.
