PRYFOGLE
Lawrence Lee Pryfogle, 73, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, February 10, 2011. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville. Pastor Ralph Gordon officiating, assisted by Pastor Mark Farmer. Internment Blendon Cemetery. Larry was born on April 16, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Kenneth Leroy Pryfogle and Harriett Bowers Pryfogle. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann Elizabeth (Cherry); and son, Scott (Robin) Pryfogle. Additional survivors include his very special grandchildren, Zachary and Maya. Larry is also survived by a sister, Kim (Jim) Reed; and nephews, Adam and Erik Reed; and various cousins; and friends; as well, as special furry companions, Chauncey and Noah. Larry was known for his wide ranging interests, knowledge and dry wit. He will be missed by his family, especially his grandchildren, who loved his stories and history lessons. Larry graduated from Columbus North High School, Otterbein College and received his Masters from Ohio University. Veteran of the Army and Marines. He retired from Columbus Public Schools after 30 years. He spent his retirement through community involvement, serving as a Columbus Zoo Docent, member of the Westerville Lion’s Club, Hanby House Docent, graduate of the Westerville Citizens’ Police Academy, and pursuing his interests in Tai Chi, swimming, history, music, old time movies and reading. Regular attendee of The American Baptist Church of Westerville. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 14th, at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friends, if they wish, may contribute to the Westerville Lions Club or The American Baptist Church of Westerville, in his memory.

Ann — We are so sorry for your loss. I think we are still in shock and unable to comprehend this unexpected passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Robin & Scott, and particularly Zachary and Maya. His grandchildren loved him dearly and life for them will never be the same without his presence. Our North High School Fraternity was called The Links, which Larry and I were members of and this was our motto. “Friendship is the chain of gold shaped in God’s all perfect mold, each link a smile, a laugh, a tear; a grip of the hand a word of cheer.”
We became friends in 1954 at North and onto the days at Otterbein. This is when I met you Ann. I was honored to be Larry’s Best Man at your wedding in Altoona, Pa.
Larry was a very studious, honest, caring person, always asking about how other people were doing in their lives, Never did I hear him say anything detrimemtal about anyone.
He did have a laugh, a word of cheer and was a very genuine person.
I will miss our times at The Old North On The 4th remembering the good old days including family and friends.
Good Bye ole friend, we’ll miss you, but see you at the end.
