FORD
Mark Douglas “Bubba” Ford was born in Columbus on April 11, 1961. He was a wonderful son to his parents, John and Betty Ann Ford (nee Castorano), and was best friends with his brothers Chuck and Ron. A 1979 graduate of Brookhaven High School, Mark loved golf and boxing. He was even a kick boxer and body builder when he was younger and was an avid camping enthusiast and fisherman. Mark retired from The Kroger Co. after 32 years of service, starting off as a bagger at store 248 (Arcadia & High Street in Columbus) in 1977, working in several stores and retiring in 2009 as a produce clerk. Mark loved his job and had many friends at Kroger. Mark’s greatest passion in life was his boys, Kevin and Kent. He was a great dad who loved his boys dearly, and he was always so very proud of them. He attended all of their events and school activities and was excited for the fine young men that they’ve become and thrilled with opportunity for them to go to college. He also expressed how happy he was with the loving environment provided by their mother Jo and “Mr. Kevin” King. Mark passed unexpectedly on November 26, 2010 and is also survived by niece Sheree Ford, nephew Kyle Ford, great nephew Tyler Ford; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Viewing will be held Friday, December 3, 4-8 pm and Saturday, December 4, 9-10 am followed by funeral services at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kevin and Kent Ford College Scholarship fund at Kemba Credit Union – 622 N. State Street Westerville, Ohio 43082.
Mark will sorely be missed.
