Maureen “Molly” McQuade Wolfrom, age 71, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on July 1, 2026, after a courageous 3 1/2 year journey with ovarian cancer.
Born on January 14, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, Molly was the daughter of Robert and Mary Jayne McQuade.
She is survived by her daughters, Heidi (Scott) Winkler and Amy (Evan) Burghes; her grandchildren, Audrey Winkler, Blake and Austin Burghes; her basset hound, Hazel; siblings Colleen Woodruff, Mike (Denise) McQuade, and Patrick “Tink” (Joanie) McQuade; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, treasured friends, former students, and countless others whose lives were brighter because they knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David “Wolfie” Wolfrom, her parents, and her brother-in-law, Keith “Woody” Woodruff.
Molly graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 1973 and received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 1977. It was there that she met her husband, David, and they built a life together over 40 years of marriage.
Former students at Ourday Preschool will remember a teacher who made learning magical. Neighbors will remember daily conversations on her walks with Hazel and seeing her happily “putzing” in the yard. Friends will remember her one-of-a-kind sense of humor and the rooms she filled with her contagious laughter. Her grandkids will remember their “Nama” for playful adventures and having a song or chant for any occasion. Her family will remember her unconditional love, her genuine kindness, and her remarkable ability to find joy and hope in every circumstance.
