Peggy Cady
Dec. 31, 1955 - Apr. 28, 2026
Westerville
Peggy Jean Cady (née Reeves), 70, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in Westerville. Born December 31, 1955, in Sandusky, she lived a life full of strength and love.
Peggy grew up in Norwalk, Ohio, but for the last 40 years has called Westerville, Ohio home. Peggy spent over 25 years working for Westerville City Schools; a job that brought her both joy and pride. She first used her creative and artistic talents working in the school library. Then, her kindness and warmth were showered upon everyone she encountered as she became Wilder Elementary’s school secretary. She eventually moved to the school system’s administrative building where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on anyone who crossed her path. She was loved by students, parents, teachers, and administrators alike.
Peggy passed away after years of fighting illness with a strength and grace that never wavered. Despite the hardship her illnesses brought she truly never complained. Through life’s challenges, she approached every obstacle with positivity. Those closest to her will always remember her vibrant smile, kind heart, and her ability to laugh, even in life’s most challenging times. She always put others first, led with grace, and if she could make your load lighter…she always did. She loved fiercely, loyally, gently, and graciously. She poured that love into everyone who was lucky enough to be in her orbit.
Above all else, Peggy was most proud of her family, and she told them every chance she had…only being out done by how often she reminded them how loved and cherished they were. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 50 years, Thomas Cady. Her sister, Pam Mercer, and husband, Terry Mercer; brothers Jim Reeves; and Dan Reeves, and wife Rhoda Reeves; Son, Brian Cady and wife, Lindsey Cady; daughter, Breanna Hrabusa, and husband, Brendon Hrabusa; five grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wilber (Bus) Reeves, and Arline Reeves; and brother, Bill Reeves; and sister, Sally Smith.
Visitation will be at 10:00 on Saturday, May 9, 2026, followed by a Memorial Service at noon at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 East Schrock Rd. Westerville, Ohio. The services with be followed by a Celebration of Life at Genoa Baptist Church: 7562 Lewis Center Rd, Westerville, OH 43082
May Peggy’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
