Charles “ Charlie” Robert Wharton IV, age 60 of Sunbury Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sunbury Ohio March 11, 2026. Born September 30,1965 in Columbus Ohio to Charles Robert Wharton III and Donna Wharton. Proceeded in death by both parents Charles And Donna Wharton III. Grandparents: Charles and Helen Wharton Jr. And John and Mary Hammond. Survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Teresa Hagan Wharton. Children: Kyle, Mary & Ryan Wharton. Sister Brenda Wharton (Brenda Gardner), Brother Don Wharton. Uncle Dave Wharton (Marianne Wharton), Many cousins, Best friend Bart Orcutt, Sisters-in-law Michelle Hagan (Steve Hub) and Melessa Hagan Norcross (Donald Norcross). Nieces and Nephews: Phillip (Sarah) Norcross, Angela Norcross, Ben (Kaitlyn) Norcross and Kay Norcross Worden (Khristopher). Great nephew Everett Norcross and great nieces Haley Worden and Penelope Norcross. Charlie grew up in north Columbus. Graduating from Brookhaven High School & East career Center in 1985. He was a car enthusiast and mechanic from a young age. Even building a dune buggy in High School. He was always tinkering with engines. He loved riding his Harley with his wife and many friends. He did many charity rides over the years. An avid NASCAR Racing fan & a big fan of OSU football. Loved heavy metal , classic rock and country music. Always listening & singing along. He took ball room dancing with his wife. He always took the love of his life, Teresa, whom he loved for 43 years to “the Castle” every year for valentines day, a tradition for so many years. Enjoyed camping and fishing & the outdoors. Charlie worked for AC Delco for 19 years. Koosen fire & security for 5 and most recently Car Supply for 10. Always worked hard to provide for his family Charlie had a big heart and loved to laugh. He loved his family more than anything. He will always be remembered for his loving, caring heat by those that knew him best. Family and friends can pay respects Tuesday 3/17/2026 from 6pm-8pm at Moreland Funeral Home 55 E Schrock rd Westerville Oh 43081 Burial will be In Lebanon TN. Visiting hours will be Thursday 3/19/26 from 4pm-6pm and Friday from 11am-12pm at Ligon & Bobo 241 W Main st Lebanon, TN 37087 Burial will be friday at 1pm with cousins as pallbearers.
