Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH

Doris Louise Waldren Reid of Centerburg, Ohio passed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on January 12, 2026 in her home at the age of 91. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, May 21,1934, to the late Thelma Mae (Engle) Waldren and Given Richard Waldren of Grove City, Ohio.

She was a 1953 graduate of Central High School and was so proud of beinga CHS Pirate.  She was a member of the high school choir and never stopped singing and humming for the rest of her life.  She loved the Lord and understood the great gift of salvation.  After graduating she married her high school sweetheart Paul Schooley whom she had two children with, Debra Anne and Paul Charles. She later moved to Scotland and had two additional children with her second husband, John Reid.  Christina Mae and Janet Lesley.

She retired from Newark Air Force base in 1991. In her younger years she liked bowling, dancing and boating on Buckeye Lake. She thought she was a really good swimmer once and tried to swim across the Ohio River (her brother and his friends had to swim out and help her get back to the shore).  In her later years she was very happy to be watching her great grandchildren play soccer or just being outside watering the flowers. She also loved her dog Muffie.  Doris very rarely went anywhere without Muffie. She loved her family and wanted nothing more than to spend time with them, and that they would all experience the love of God.

Her Survivors include her daughter Debra Anne (Paul McKenzie) Winters of North Lewisburg, Ohio, her son Paul Charles (Missy) Schooley of Sunbury, Ohio, her daughter Christina Mae (Rodd) Hansen of Lancaster, Ohio and her daughter Janet Lesley (Bill Teders) Reid of Centerburg, Ohio; ten grandchildren Trenton (Tina) Howells, Christopher Winters, Amanda (Chris) Hernandez, Joe Schooley, Sam Schooley, Maggie Brock, Abigail (Derrick) Hayes, Annie Hansen, Emma Hansen and Jessica (Tyler) Lightle; 13 great grandchildren Adam, Jordan, Justin, Dodie, Amelia, Ethan, Adison, Alivia, Gwendolen, Bladen, Bryett, Brinzlee and Brannix: and 7 great great grandchildren. She dearly loved all of them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Leroy Waldren.

A special thank you is being extended to Paula Craddock, Joni Teders, Laura Lippert, Bill Teders, Karen King Skulas and the multiple neighbors by her residence for their tireless care and endless love.
