Beloved Wife of 52 years. Cherished Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Teacher, Gardener, Entrepreneur. Jane Marie Zackeroff Lehnert passed away from a heart attack on December 11th, 2025, after a battle with ALS....but you wouldn't have known it....Incredibly strong, she constantly had a smile on her face, an unfailing positive attitude, and a fierce determination to live a joyful, wonderful life, on her own terms. An insightful, daring business woman, she seized opportunities to create successful partnerships with her family. A 25-year teacher for the Severe Behavioral Handicapped in Columbus Public Schools, she was compassionate, firm, and changed the trajectory of countless.
Jane, "Grandma Monster-Hand", loved her family beyond anything else. From Warren, Ohio, she is predeceased by her parents, William and Kathryn Zackeroff and her brother, Kenneth Zackeroff (Bonni). She is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of 52 years, Edward Lehnert, and by her children, Lauren Lehnert (Scott) Bailey and William (Stephanie) Lehnert. Bringing joy to her life, were her grandchildren, Audrey, Nathaniel, Harper, James, and Ian and her best friend and sister, Gloria (Clark) Zaharoff. Loved by nieces and nephews, Shelley Zaharoff, William (Bill), and Jennifer Zackeroff, she leaves behind a family a grateful to God for her incredible life.
A private family memorial was held on December 13th, 2025, and a Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held in the spring 2026.
