Jeffery "Jeff" Lytle, 71, of Westerville passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday September 30, 2025. Jeff was born in Akron but was raised and resided in Westerville for 63 years. He was a graduate of Westerville High School class of '71. After a 24-year career at Roy Tailors Uniform Company dressing Ohio's finest (police, fire, and EMS) he retired to a life on the golf course, spending time at his retirement house in Pawleys Island, SC, and as always cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes. Jeff was a man of few words but many jokes. In contrast to being an only child he was in awe of the large family he created in blood, through marriage, and through friends who became family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; his son, Jeff (Heather) of Blacklick; daughters, Kelly (Charles) of Columbus, Ali (Brian) Novotny of Nashport, and Ashley of Columbia, SC; his six grandchildren, Alexander, Julianna, Peyton, Greyson, Emma, and Connor; his great-grandchild, Charlie; sister-in-laws, Beth, Jean (Roger), Barb, Amy and Becky and many nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann, grandmother, Lucy, and his uncle Charles.
Visitation will be held at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081, Monday October 6, 2025, from 10:00 am-11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Private family interment. A celebration of life luncheon will be held following service at Carfagna's, 1440 Gemini Pl, Columbus, Ohio 43240.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. After Jeff's trip to Africa in May he fell in love with the animals and the work done at Sheldrick's rescuing, rehabilitating, and reentering elephants and rhinos back into their natural habitat. https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/
