Bonita (Bonnie) Joyce Boone

Bonita (Bonnie) Joyce Boone, 87, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025.  Bonnie was born in Raymondville, Texas to Carlye Belle (Williamson) Hoffner and Louis Phillip Hoffner.  The family later moved to Kansas where she lived for many years before relocating to Westerville, Ohio in 1964.  Married August 27, 1955 to James Robert Boone who predeceases her along with her parents, her youngest son, her son-in-law, her older sister and her two older brothers.  Survived by son, Steve Boone (Marti), daughter, Sandy Estep, twin sister, Nita Nardi, brother, James, four grandchildren, Kelly, Andy, Julian and Jamie, three great grandchildren, Henry, Bruce and Olivia, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.  Bonnie retired from the Westerville School System after working 20 years in the Whittier and Huber Ridge school cafeterias, and then worked 27 years at her son’s business before fully retiring at the age of 76.  Bonnie was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet and will be dearly missed.  A special thanks to the staff of Vitas Hospice that took such wonderful care of Bonnie day-to-day and through her final transition, and also to the staff at Sage Park who made her smile.  In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Alzheimer’s Association, Vitas Hospice or the charity of your choice.  There will be a visitation starting at 1:00 pm on October 2, 2025 at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 Schrock Road in Westerville with service to follow at 2:00 pm.  Interment at Blendon Central Cemetery immediately following.
