On Thursday, January 30th, 2025, Marianne Gatton peacefully passed away after an extended illness, with her loving family by her side. Marianne spent much of her life in Mt. Sterling, Washington Court House, and Columbus, building a warm and caring home wherever she went. A longtime and beloved employee of Sugar Creek Packing Co., she made lasting friendships and touched many lives throughout her decades of service.

Marianne was a gentle and kind-hearted soul who found joy in cooking, gardening, birdwatching, houseplants, and most of all, in the simple pleasure of laughing with those she loved. She cherished every moment with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Verna Dillon, and her brothers, John Dillon and William Dillon. Marianne is survived by her daughter, Amy Fargnoli and her fiancé, Todd Rozens; her son, Adam Gatton and his wife, Amanda; her treasured grandchildren, Jacob McConkey and Carmen Gatton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews, and great nieces who held her dear to their hearts.

In accordance with Marianne's wishes, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be planned for the spring, giving family and friends an opportunity to gather, share memories, and honor her life together.

If you wish to pay tribute to Marianne's memory, please consider a donation to a Humane Society of your choosing. Her love for animals reflected the gentle compassion she extended to everyone around her.

Marianne's kindness, laughter, generosity and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, reminding us to cherish life's simple moments and the warmth of family.

Amy/Adam I am so sorry for your loss. I have cherished every memory of the times o spent with you and your loving mother. My most favorite memory was when I asked her if her new zip code was E, I..E, I O. The tears that ran down her face still make me laugh. Be assured you will see her again. For now, every time you look in the mirror know your mother’s heart and soul shine through and back at you. You are both such amazing people. Love you. You’re much prettier sister from another mother/fathee Scott Y
