Victor Richard Hatch

"Victor Richard Hatch, age 15, died unexpectedly at home from a long-term condition on October 2, 2022, just 46 days shy of his 16th birthday. Victor was born on November 17, 2006 to Dana Hatch and Wendy Carney-Hatch. During his lifetime, Victor attended 5 Columbus City Schools: Maize Elementary (Preschool), Colerain Elementary (K-4), Salem Elementary (5th-6th), Ridgeview Middle School (7th-8th), and Columbus Alternative High School (9th.)  This past fall, he started his sophomore year at West Central School, which was the best school his parents had ever found for him. In his short amount of time there, he managed to capture the hearts of faculty and students alike. Despite his challenges, Victor’s sense of humor and ready smile endeared him to all he met. Victor loved to wear hats and put them on other people. He went through phases of wearing capes and masks, leading his mom to use the hashtag "Autism Superhero" on her social media accounts, that featured frequent photos and videos of Victor. In August of 2018, Victor was granted a wish by Make A Wish, who built him a little clubhouse and hosted a party in the family's back yard. He is survived by his parents, Dana and Wendy, his brother Vincent, his paternal grandparents, Jan and Mary Hatch; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
