William J. "Bill" Craycraft, age 97, of Columbus, passed away September 13, 2022. Retired truck driver/mechanic. Lifetime member of VFW, Amvets and Eagles. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, USS Maryland in the South Pacific. Survived by daughter, Janet (Yusha) Mirza of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Michael (Hillary) Craycraft, Alexander, Haider, Zia, Taahir and Zorah Mirza. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia Craycraft and his parents. Visitation at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m.. Interment Bloomfield Cemetery.

Janet and Michael and the rest of Bill's family. Saying good bye is never easy. Bill is safe and free now. But the ties that bind are never gone. I have known Bill for over 20 years and had the utmost respect for him. I will remember the picnics and our times at 1598. May he rest in peace.
