Fern Gryder Lambert passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2022- her 82nd Birthday.
Born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina to the late James Bradshaw Gryder and Belle Shumate Gryder. Also preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph, Jim, Wade, Bob, Wayne and sister, Carol.
Survived by loving husband and Love of her life, Ray Lambert; daughter Kim (Rob) Thomas; sons, Kent and Kerry Lambert; daughter, Kandie (Matt) McGaughey. Also survived by her brother, Rex Gryder; numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Fern spent her life devoting it to others. Although she worked part-time for Hallmark, her greatest legacy was that of mother and grandmother. She could never have enough children around, and spent her life creating happiness for those fortunate enough to know her or call her mom or mommom.
Fern also had a passion for animals- always wanting to care and nurture every animal in need- including pet squirrels. She loved the outdoors, spent hours upon hours gardening and bringing beauty into the world. She had a very caring and special touch.
She was truly a beautiful soul- inside and out. Her kind, gentle soul with a pinch of sassiness shines through her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her beautiful smile and laughter will be missed by all fortunate enough to have known her.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to Becky of Bella Care Hospice for the kind, compassionate care provided over the past year. A special Thank You to Brenda - the compassionate care you provided, although brief, was a blessing.
The family encourages Donations to Bella Care Hospice.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 17th from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, OH 43081 where a service will follow at 2 p.m.
