Jim is survived by his 5 children, Debbie (Lou) Guidotti, Diana Ulery, Steve (Cindy) Cantrell, Terri (AI) Walton & Rusty Cantrell; 4 grandchildren, Matt Ulery, Megan Ulery, Jay Guidotti & Justin Cantrell; 2 great grandchildren, John Guidotti & Fiona Guidotti; 3 step grandchildren & 10 step great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Ann Whisman; nephew Sam (Vicki) Cantrell; nieces Shelly (Steve) Strouse & Susan Redd; special family, Chip & Wendy Carpenter & family; best friend, Scott (Judy) Mickle. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cantrell & brother-in law, Bob Whisman. Jim served a 2-year term in the Army from 1952-1954. He had a long career as a long-haul truck driver for 30 plus years & was a member of the Teamsters Union. He received an award while employed at PPG for 20 years of service & 2,000,000 miles of safe driving. After retiring from PPG he worked for local farmers as a part time trucker, mechanic & farm hand. Jim never knew a stranger. He had many friends & was always ready to lend a helping hand. He lived by Matthew 5:42, Give to those who ask, and don’t refuse those who wish to borrow from you”. He was very active, full of joy & easy going. He loved to tell stories about his life experiences, especially about trucking & always enjoyed a good joke. He loved to fish, whether at Kenny’s pond or in Canada. He enjoyed working on cars & trucks & tinkering in his garage. He loved his family, God & was a patriot. Jim enjoyed his life on the road as a trucker & loved to travel. Blue Grass & Country music were his favorites & he could play guitar, mandolin, banjo & other instruments by ear. He enjoyed reading his western novels & his Bible. Jim will be greatly missed by his many friends & family. We take comfort in knowing that he is in heaven & at peace. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 540 Officenter Place #100, Gahanna, OH 43230.
