Shirley Anne Nofziger, 84, of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 30, 2019. She was born January 2, 1935 to Clifford and Doris Cunningham of Wauseon, Ohio. She married Larry Nofziger on September 3, 1952. She is survived by her husband, three children, Robin (Virginia) Nofziger, Beth (Matt) Kempf and Mark (Debbie) Nofziger; six grandchildren, Amy (Glenn) Becker, Ian Nofziger, Randy (Marcie) Holloway, Derek-Eli (Catie) Nofziger, Emily (Michael) Himes, Abby Nofziger; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Nofziger, Seth Lail, Aidan Lail and Brooke Becker; and one great-great grandchild, Virginia Lee Island. Shirley and Larry were world travelers and visited 26 countries together. She was never happier than when she was on the water, surrounded by friends and family. Besides travelling, Shirley enjoyed playing bridge and earned her share of master points. Shirley and Larry were so fortunate to recently celebrate their 67 th wedding anniversary with the five generations of the Nofziger family. They especially enjoyed seeing their 2 year-old great-great granddaughter for the first time. Virginia Lee's mother Hannah is a Navy hospital corpsman stationed in Okinawa. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved to hear her laughter. Visitation will be held at Church of the Messiah, 51 N. State Street, Westerville, Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m., Rev. Jim Wilson, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pelotonia in Shirley's name at

So sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. We worked together in student Affairs. Shirley had a calming effect on anxious students who came to our office. She made all of our jobs so much easier. I was honored that Shirley and Jim made it to my retirement celebration.
