Tuesday, April 30th 4 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home

Terri Sue Shonkwiler , age 65, of Lewis Center, OH, passed away April 26, 2019. Born on 5-23-1953 to Robert and Doris Shonkwiler in southern Ohio. Terri was raised in Columbus Ohio graduating from Brookhaven High School in 1971 and then proceeded to Cincinnati Bible Seminary to receive her bachelors degree. We believe it was through her Christian mission work in Europe in the late 70's where she gained her love for travel and then spent the majority of her career in the travel industry. Along with her love for Church Missions were also her love for her dogs, kids in general and teaching Sunday School. It was one of her strongest hopes that through her teaching youngsters in Sunday school that at least one life be touched to love mission work as she did and go on to be a missionary. Terri is survived by her "soul sister" Paula King and special friend, Terry Meade; brother, Bob (Kyna) Shonkwiler; nieces and nephews, Bethani, Jenna (Zach), Matt (Adrienne ) and Mitch along with her adoptive family the Gordon's. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt.Carmel Hospice St Anns or Doris Day Animal League.

A special thanks to those loving care takers of Terri's at Whetstone Nursing Care Center.

Visitation will be held at Moreland Funeral, Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Tuesday 2-4 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m., Pastor David Bondurant, officiating. There will be a private burial service.

Bob, I am so sorry for your loss. I always thought Terri was a hoot and loved the way she laughed. She will be missed by many, but especially by you. I know she is in a better place now and we'll see her again some day. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

PK, you are in my prayers! I think the best thing you said was about Terry talking Gods ear off. You were both special to me. I remember watching the Christian comedian with you, and laughing and my belly hurting for laughing. Keep your head held high, Terry is with Jesus, and Annie.

Dear Shonkwiler family, what a blessing Terri was. She was a woman of faith, and I always enjoyed talking with her. May God comfort you as you grieve, yet celebrate that Terri is with the Lord she loves.

Bob, So sorry to learn of Terri's passing. Though she and I have not crossed paths for many years we certainly had many great memories of growing up together at Linden Church of Christ and the activities we had as a part of the YOLACKS group. May our God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dear Family and Paula, We were saddened to hear of Terri's passing. We have fond memories of our time together at Haus Edelweiss in Austria, back in the early 80's. It was quite an experience for all of us and it is nice to know that it influenced her life in such a positive way. Prayers for all of you, from Germany, Rand and Katy Smelser.
