Sally Jeanette (Paynter) Albrecht, age 87, of Centerburg, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She was born on June 24, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio to the Ernest L. and Jeannette R. (Kokensparger) Paynter Sr.
Sally graduated from Zanesville High School in 1956 and continued her education graduating from cosmetology school in 1958. Sally competed and won several hair-styling awards as a beautician. She married her husband Fred A. Albrecht Sr. Aug. 9, 1958, and was married for 62 years. She loved serving the Lord as a minister's wife and served faithfully for 70 years. Her relationship with her Savior, started while serving at North Terrace Church of Christ Zanesville, Ohio while attending the youth group, she met Fred and was married. Later, she served in the congregations at Frazeysburg; Coal Run; Beverly; New Marshfield; Airline; McConnelsville; Meigs; the First Christian Church in Covington, Virginia; and for the past 44 years at the Centerburg Church of Christ till she stepped into Heaven.
Many days she worked as a beautician, donating her time and cutting hair for many of the members in the church and those who just needed help or a friendly ear to talk to. She would give rides to those who needed to be taken home from church or to appointments. Sally was a wonderful cook and provided many meals to those who would stop by at the parsonage. In the 70's and 80's, Sally was a local coordinator for the Meals-on-Wheels in Covington, Va and in Centerburg Ohio. Sallys fervent love for Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of her life and she will be deeply missed by her family and all who have been touched by her kindness, gentleness, mercy and compassion.
Sally is survived by her 4 children: Frederick (Sandy) Albrecht Jr., Daniel (Cammie) Albrecht, Denise (Dave) Melvin, Dean (Jennifer) Albrecht; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sally also has her two surviving sisters: Jane Untied of Frazeysburg and June Lacy of Dresden and brother-in-law Walter (Rose) Albrecht. Preceding her in death is her late husband Evangelist Frederick A. Albrecht Sr. of Centerburg, her parents Ernest L. and Jeannette Paynter, brothers: Ernest L. Paynter Jr and Donald "Butch" Paynter; sisters, Pat Norris and Phyllis Willard also of Zanesville and daughter-in-law Kathy (Young) Albrecht. Her greatest joy on earth was being surrounded by her family but was most excited every time her grandchildren walked through the door.
Friends may call at the Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 Columbus Road in Centerburg, on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 4-6 p.m. and Monday Feb. 3 from 11-1. Funeral services will be held at the church on Monday Feb. 3 at 1pm with Roger Crego, and Daryn Dawes presiding. Services will be livestreamed at CenterburgChurchOfChrist.com. and on YouTube.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks for all the love, support and well wishes in our time of sorrow and in the words of her beloved, "Shalom".

So sorry to hear of Sally’s passing. She was a wonderful lady with a lovely family. It was a bright spot in my life to know Fred & Sally and all their kids during my time in Centerburg. I regret that I will be in Phoenix for my brother’s passing and can’t attend in person to express my condolences to each one of you. Love to all. Sending prayers and hugs
