Dorothy Mae Benton

Mrs. Dorothy Mae (Goslin) Benton, age 96 of Griffin GA, formerly Westerville, OH passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023.

Mrs. Benton was born in Lancaster, OH on August 13, 1926. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick), her parents, Charles and Stella Goslin, parents-in-law, Lynn and Florence Benton, siblings, Bob (Pat) Goslin and Esther (Red) Miller.

She is survived by children, Steve (Jackie) Benton, Diane Benton and Karen Benton; grandchildren, Stevi Benton (Marilia Brocchetto), Danny Dodson (Jordyn Moore), Jenni (Chris) Stupski, and great-grandchildren, Bryson, Milo and Kinslee Stupski; sibling; Jim (Judy) Goslin, and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Benton was a Registered Nurse, spending much of her career at local Nursing Homes, and retired from Nationwide Insurance as a Medicare Claims Specialist. After retirement, she continued working with Concord Counseling Services as a Sr. Home Health Aide.

She belonged to and served several local organizations, including Westerville RN Club, Westerville Sr. Center, Still Going Strong, Anchor Club, NCHA, and Toastmistress Club. Dick and Dorothy were world travelers. Dorothy continued to travel with her children.

Mrs. Benton volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of Harlem Road Methodist Church and Church of the Savior United Methodist.

Visitation will be June 2, 2023 from 12-2pm with funeral at 2pm, officiated by Pastor Bud Leskovac at Moreland Funeral home 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH. Interment at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center following the service.
