Arlene Jo Eis, age 84, passed away August 25, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Myron and Lillian Cotter Eis. She graduated fron St. Mary of the Springs High School in 1955 and went on the receive a Bachelors degree from The Ohio State University in 1959 where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. After graduation her career she started as a buyer for the Union Store; then to the State of Ohio as a Statististician for 13 years. From there she worked as a Retirement Plan Consultant for a consulting firm. She started work at Nationwide Insurance in the late 80's as a Retirement Plan Consultant and was quickly promoted to Manager of a team of consultants. After retiring from Nationwide, she provided loving care for her mother until her passing. Arlene remained in close contact with her fellow alumni from St. Mary's. Their bond of friendship brought them together for regular lunches which Arlene thoroughly enjoyed. She was a Buckeye through and through and as such her support for Ohio State never waned; she followed the football team and would often wear some piece of branded Buckeye clothing. She had a very keen sense of fashion and dressed in the latest styles, always coordinated with shoes, purse and jewelry. She also appreciated the arts; she loved jazz, appreciated the great painters and had a special love for theater. She enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching news programming so that she could discuss current events with friends. Although she loved all animals cats held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed good conversation with people and made friends easily. All in all she was a kind and generous person. She will be sorely missed by her friends. Arlene and I met when we worked at the same company. She has been a dear and special friend ever since. She is one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever known. I will miss our lively discussions on current events and her easy sense of humor.
