Barbara A. Dils, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at St. Ann's Hospital following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 15, 1932 to the late George and Ruth Prince in Dayton, Ohio. On July 8, 1955, Barbara married the love of her life, Maynard Dils. Together they started a life full ofmuch love, laughter and adventure.

From farming to camping, they were always on the move, meeting new people and forming lifelong friendships. They never knew a stranger. She loved to cook and bake, especially her oatmeal raisin cookies, homemade apple pie and chocolate mayonnaise cake every year for their anniversary. She loved listening to music, cardinals and hummingbirds, going to bible studies, gardening, sewing, quilting and crafting. Maynard would cut out figurines and furniture in his woodshop and she would paint them and give them away as gifts. She loved watching and cheering the Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians, but her favorite was watching her children and grandchildren perform and play sports. She loved her husband and family to the moon and back!

She is survived by her children; sons, Ted and Dennis (Cindy), and daughter, Kathy (Troy) Hixon; grandchildren, Angela, Emily (Don), Katara (Cory), Joe (Kacey), Sarah (Peter), Casey, Nathan and Jacob; great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; brother-in-law Robert Nunemacher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by Maynard, her husband of 57 years in 2012; her sisters, Dolores Cloran and Martha Nunemacher; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Gil Cloran, Robert (Nedra) Dils, Betty (Gerald) Horne and Roger (Marie) Dils.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Inn at Walnut Trail for their loving care and the nurses and doctors in Palliative Care at Mt. Carmel St. Anns.
