Frances Marie Morrison, 92, of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on January 18, 2021 after a long hard fought battle with dementia. Frances was born on September 29, 1928 to Martin R and Emma M Whalen (Wutzler). After graduating from Linden McKinley, her career and extra curriculars landed her as the President of the Womens Auxiliary for the Fraternal Order of Police in Columbus, Ohio. Frances was selected by the Insurance Women of Columbus to receive their public service award for her inspiration and support in 1973. She also received numerous awards during her time at Insurance Service Office INC. While working for Lazarus Northland Mall Better Dresses she was recognized for her superior clothing and personal shopping knowledge, as well as personal sales achievements. It was June 1946, she met Bill Morrison at the swimming pool. By September they knew they had both found their soul mates so Bill proposed to her at Old Man's Cave in the Hocking Hills. She referred to him as, Her best friend, sweetheart, lover, and best father and husband ever. They wed February 1, 1947 and went on to create a beautiful family of five adding three children, Susan Morrow, Mary Morrison, and Michael Morrison. They were married for 49 years when Bill passed away in June of 1996. Frances, or Aunt Sis as some call her, spent a lot of her life being the primary caregiver for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, watching her favorite soap opera, (General Hospital) spending time with family, having card nights when her brothers and sisters were visiting, listening to music, reading, and doing the Sunday crossword in the Columbus Dispatch while drinking her coffee. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, OH Sunday, January 24th from 12 noon - 2 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m., Chaplin Daniel Hamman, officiating. Interment Bloomfield Cemetery.
