In Memory of
Edwin D. Boney
December 9, 1940 - August 25, 2020

Edwin D. Boney Sr., 79, passed away at his home on August 25, 2020. Born on December 9, 1940 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Herbert and Berneda Stage Boney. Ed spent his professional life as a Mechanical Engineer. After retirement he returned to work part time, transporting special needs students to and from school. He enjoyed bowling, washing his car, reading the newspaper from cover to cover and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Browns, win or lose, and it was so much a part of him that he continued to watch games even after Alzheimer's took away his ability to understand them. Most of all he liked to laugh and will be remembered by friends and family for his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Sue Ellen (Phillips) Boney; daughters, Julia Wilson of North Lewisburg, OH and Terri (Verne) Shaull of Lugoff, SC; granddaughter, Brittany Wilson (Micah Mcglone) of Hilliard, OH; great-grandsons, Alexander, Jaxon, and Blaine, special siblings-in-law, Virgil Phillips, Larry Phillips, Debi Little, Randy Phillips and Gloria Ackley as well as many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Edwin D. Boney Jr., son-in-law, Glenn Wilson, brothers, David Boney and Joel Boney; brother-in-law, Terry Phillips, sisters-in-law, Kathleen Boney and Gina Phillips, and best friends, John and Carol Kifer. The family would like to extend thanks to his sister-in-law Debi Little and National Church Residences Hospice for helping to care for Ed during his final weeks. Per Ed's wishes no services will be held.
