Douglas McArthur Solomon, age 73, passed away at St. Ann's Hospital, on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. He was born on March 3, 1947 to the late J. P. and Edna (Whitehead) Solomon in Halcyondale, GA. Douglas grew up in Sylvania, Georgia where he graduated from Central High School.
He received his BS in Business Administration from Tuskegee University in Alabama. He received his Masters from Xavier University in Cincinatti, Ohio in Business Administration. After nearly 50 years in the business and finance field as a Controller for numerous companies, he retired.
When he was not working he enjoyed reading all things finance and business related information, taking vacations at Hilton Head, SC playing tennis, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings Melvin and James Solomon. Survived by his loving and caring wife of 52 years Delora Thomas Solomon; his children, Asperanza Delora Solomon and Douglas McArthur Solomon, Jr.; siblings, Earnest Lee Solomon, Baltimore, MD, Earl (Juanita) Solomon, Sterling Heights, MI, Edna Evonne Brooks, Savannah, GA., Paul (Deborah) Solomon, Sylvania, GA, Annette (Andre) Washington, Stone Mountian, GA, Marilyn Thompson, Savannah, GA, Bobby Solomon, Fort Valley, GA and Barbara(Kevin) Myers, Richmond Hills, GA.
Host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Due to Covid 19, a private service for immediate family only will be held at Moreland, Funeral Home, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081.

to douglas family. i am billy cutter (willie l brooks,jr). i just heard the new 7/28/20. the family have my sympathy and pray. douglas was my classmate and friend. we was a close class. I have not see douglas since graduation from central high sylvania,ga. i will contining praying for the family.
