John "Jack" L. Melvin, 84, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on September 13, 2019. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas high school in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army 1955-1957 and retired from Anheuser-Busch. Jack was a life-long Yankees, Browns and Buckeyes fan and loved going to Columbus Blue Jackets games.

Jack is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Ann; his children, Eileen Hines (Paul), of Westerville, Dianne Kline (Steven) of Hilliard, John Melvin (Connie) of Columbus, Cathy Warner of Columbus, Michael Melvin (Carmen) of Glendale, Arizona and Richard Melvin of Columbus; grandchildren, Connor Hines, Andrea Taylor (Mike), Stephanie Kline-Meyer (Aaron), Daniel Kline, Samantha Melvin (fiance Tony Kanagy), Kaila Melvin, David Thomas (Ashley), Mary Kate (Cody) Corrova, Nathaniel Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Katie Warner, Jude Melvin (Katie), Tori Melvin; great-grandchildren, Chance Priestly, Thaddeus and Leo Kanagy, Matthew and Amber Thomas; brother, James Melvin; sisters, Kathleen Brush, Patricia Brush, Mary Alice Shuhart and Laura Stuts; and many more family members and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Catherine Melvin, his daughter, Kathleen Marie, his grandson, Kasey Warner and his brother, Michael Melvin and sister, Carol Jean Melvin.

Friends may call at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville, Ohio 43081 Tuesday, September 17th, from 5-8 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, September 18th at 11 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio.

Donations may be made in Jack's memory to St. Elizabeth Church St. Vincent DePaul Society, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43229. Prayer service Tuesday at 7:30 p.m..

Mary Ann, Eileen,Diane,John, Cathy, Mike, and Rich. I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Jack. We were very fortunate to have such a wonderful family as our neighbors. Condolences to the Melvin Family. I am remembering the days of Little League Football with the Melvin family as I coached Mike, Rich, and my son Chip. My wife and I are saddened to learn of John's passing.
