He had suffered a massive stroke 18 1/2 years ago and wasn't expected to ever walk or talk again but he did. He lived on his own until 6 years ago when he was moved to a care facility, but lived at the Woodlands of Columbus for the last 4 years. He suffered from dementia because of the stroke, but, through all of this he kept his sense of humor. Preceded in death by parents Glenn and Ruth Trapp, infant daughter April Dawn, wife Alice (Meek) Trapp, brother-in-law George Eihardt and Duke, his faithful Border Collie. David faithfully served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam era. Retired in 1995 from DCSC ( now known as DSCC) as an equipment operator. At the time of his stroke, he was a truck driver for Frisch Farms. The family would like to thank the staff and care teams from both The Woodlands of Columbus and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of David these last 4 years. David always wanted flowers while he was alive when he could enjoy them, so in lieu of flowers please donate to Heartland Hospice in his memory. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E.
