Mrs. Merola and David. I'm so very sorry to be writing here. Although many years have past since I've seen Rick and both of you, the Merolas were an important part of my youth. My decision to attend St. Charles was very much because Rick(y) was going there. He was one of my best friends through high school. His premature passing saddens me greatly. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Merola and David, I was heartbroken when I heard the news on Saturday. I had the chance to catch up with Rick a couple of years ago and he seemed to be in a really good place. He was such a kind man. Even though it has been many years since we've seen each other, there aren't many of my childhood memories that don't include the Merola's in one way or another. I am traveling this week for work and won't be in town on Wednesday for the service but I'll be there in spirit and praying for Rick and all of you. Take care my friends.

My sympathy to all of you, members of Rick's family. I remember him well from his days and times at St. Charles. I was saddened to hear of his sudden passing. I am unfortunately unable to make visiting hours today. Nonetheless, I will offer Mass for his eternal rest with God. Certainly his is a death too soon and too young.
