Husband and best friend of 68 years, Edgel "Perk" McKenzie, 92 years old of Columbus, Ohio peacefully went to heaven Monday March 18th to join his parents, siblings and many friends who went before him.

Perk was born April 4, 1926 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Powell and Goldie Williams McKenzie. He lived there with his three brothers and one sister until he was 18 and joined the Navy

He is survived by his wife Roberta McKenzie (Columbus,OH); daughter, Belinda Heckler (Marysville, OH); son, Steve McKenzie (Mooresville, NC); grandchildren, Bryan Pulley (Stacie)(Marysville,OH), Karilyn Gramig (Craig)(Mount Washington, KY), Christopher McKenzie (Pickerington, OH) Alexander McKenzie (Mooresville, NC); great-grandchildren, Alexandria Pulley (Marysville, OH) Dakota Pulley (Columbus,OH) Morgan Monroe (Cody) (Marysville, OH) Sydney Gramig, Alden Gramig, Joshua Gramig (Mount Washington, KY); great-great grandchildren, Breylan Haddix, Kaison Monroe, Miles Monroe (Marysville, OH), Ben Cobb and Larry Cobb.

He is preceded in death by his parents Powell and Goldie McKenzie, brothers, Grady McKenzie, Willis McKenzie, Robert McKenzie, sister, Susie Cobb, niece Michelle.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 23rd from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home where a service will follow at 3:30 p.m.. Graveside Monday, March 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Northlawn Memory Gardens.

Dear Roberta and Family, How blessed we are to have known Ed and to have you both in our lives. Ed was so very special...always with a funny quip and his kindness was always present.
