Hamer Kay Thompson, age 76, of Centerburg, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at home. Retired from PERS of Ohio. Member of Businessmens Bowling League of Mt. Vernon, scroll saw woodworker, loved hunting and exhibiting his Tennessee Walking horses. U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Saundra; daughters, Michelle Blackford and Kimberly Hart (fiance, Jason Doolin); grandchildren, Sydney Ray, Mackenzie Hart and Dalton Bradley; sisters, Lila, Nympha, Vera and Norma; brothers, Dale and Loyal; best friends, Bob and Mary Friend, Dave and Audrey Leonard; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the JOHNSON-MELICK-MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. where service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m., Pastor Stephen Howard, officiating. Interment Bloomfield Cemetery.

Our thoughts and prayers to Sandy and the entire family. I bowled with Kay for many years in the businessman league in Mount Vernon and Sandy was my Sunday school teacher years ago. Kay was an outstanding person. He will be missed but never forgotten
