Thomas (Tom) D. Berger, age 69, of Westerville, Ohio passed peacefully at home on November 8th, 2018, after battling Lewy Body Dementia. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Sara Lee Berger. He is survived by beloved wife of 45 years, Patricia; his children, Trevor (Amanda) Berger, Tricia Berger, and Tyler (Amanda) Berger; grandchildren Sara, Ben, Haydin, and Harper; brothers, Tim (Sue) Berger and Terry (Katherine) Berger; many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom served his country in the Marine Corp Reserves. He was retired from Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry. Tom was a proud member of Ohio Tree Farm Association and took great pride in his family tree farm. He devoted his time to his family, providing a faith-filled loving home. He never missed an opportunity to play with the grandchildren and share with them his love of the outdoors. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shared many great memories in the woods or fishing, with family and dear friends. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Roads, Westerville, Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. David E. Gwinner, celebrant. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider planting a tree to honor Tom's love of forestry.

Dear Patti and family, I was very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Although it's been many years since we walked the halls of Shadyside High School, I remember Tom as one of the nicest guys in the school. Patti. We were so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I enjoyed working with him, he was such a wonderful person and loved forestry. And it was so obvious how much he loved his family. All the stories he would tell. David always enjoyed talking with him about Turkey hunting. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Patti, I am so sorry for your loss. Tom was a very good man and he loved his family, the outdoors and forestry. It was a pleasure to work for him, with him and in later years having him work for me. Berger family: It is a very sad time to lose a friend from the ODNR days. Tom was a good friend then helping out at the OSU Farm Science Review when he could do so. Remember that we would talk turkey hunting from time to time as well. We have lost another DNR great guy and he will be missed. Our prayers are with all of you at this time.
