Visitation:
Friday, November 9th from 4-7 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home

Service:
Saturday, November 10th 12 Noon at Newark 2nd Baptist Church

Doris E. Eichensehr-Gordon, age 76, of Westerville, OH passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 27, 2018 as she was recovering from surgery. Retired elementary teacher from Columbus City Schools. Member of Newark 2nd Baptist Church. Taught dance at Gillie and Blendon Senior Centers. For those of you who knew her, you know that she spent her life helping others. She was an amazing person who not only danced her whole life, but who also shared her dancing with others through teaching dance and performing for those who couldn't get out and enjoy the things we tend to take for granted. Doris was a school teacher who taught for over 30 years. She loved the children who's lives she touched and she often continued to help the families long after children had left her classroom. She touched lives as a member of the American Baptist Church of Westerville and the Second Baptist Church of Newark. She was also a 20 year member of the Gingersnaps dance group and a 15 year member of the Griswold Senior Center book club. Above all, she loved God, her family, and her friends. She was a person who was always there for everyone who needed her. She could always be counted on and she loved her family and friends selflessly and deeply. The world was blessed to have her here for 76 years. She taught us that we could do anything that we set our minds to. She showed us strength, perseverance, respect, a strong sense of family, and unconditional love. She was a superhero and, like all the lives that she touched, our lives will never be the same for having lost her. Our hearts are broken but Heaven gained a truly beautiful person. She is loved immensely and she will be greatly missed. Survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Christne (Todd) Brown, Laura Eichensehr (George Graham) and Peter (Sherri) Gordon; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen Hollis, Brenda Jenkins, Barbara Randall and Sue (Jon) Kelly; brother, John Friece; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Friday, November 9th from 4-7 p.m.. Service will be held Saturday, November 10th at Newark 2nd Baptist Church, 19 W. National Drive, Newark, OH at 12 noon with visitation 1 hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Recreation Unlimited, 7700 Piper Road, Ashley, OH 43003.

Dear Ralph and family, I am so very sorry to hear the passing of Doris. 💔 I have so many great memories of Doris. The one that sticks in my mind is the day of my wedding. I was a nervous wreck and she was right by my side to reassure me I would be fine. She fixed my dress and made sure everything was just perfect. Doris was such a loving and caring lady. Love and peace to you all!!😍😘 Julie (Staten) Cantrell

I first met Doris at a tap class at the Gillie Center many years ago when she was teaching with her friend Connie. I was welcomed into the established class immediately. Several years ago I reconnected with her. She was a wonderful teacher and I learned a great deal. She will be missed by so many. God bless all of you.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Doris. I was one of her tap students at Blendon Township Senior Center. She was a wonderful teacher and a very caring person. Although I didn't know her outside of tap class, she had a very positive effect on me during the short time I knew her. My heart and prayers go out to her family at this difficult time.
