Homer Adam Cordle. age 68, of Westerville, passed away July 26, 2018 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Whittaker, W. Va. Oct. 29, 1949 to Willard and Charlotte Cordle who preceded him in death along with 3 sisters,Cythia, Lil and Norma; 2 brothers, Dick and Walt. Homer leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Paula; daughter, Chasity (Dave) Spiert of Westerville and son, Adam (Chrissi) Cordle of Dublin; grandchildren, Nicholas, Landon, Davide, Nikk and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Camden and Carter; brother, Bill (Debbie) of Dunbar, WV and Darrell of Ft. Myers, FL; sister, Judy Wheeler of Sugar Grove, OH; sisters-in-law, Pat King of Charleston, WV, Judy Austin of Charlotte, NC and Dotty Smith of Rittle Birch, WV; nieces and nephews. Homer worked for United Way of Central Ohio where he made a difference in people's lives. Homer spearheaded the giving boxes at Hollywood Casino for United Way. His community involvement over the past 40 years included United Way, Charity Newsies, One New Toy Drive, American Red Cross Disaster Services, St. Stephens Community House, VFW, Amvets and the American Legion. Homer received awards for his dedication and devotion from CBTU Community Service Award, Charity Newsie of the Year, George Meany award, John Maloney award from St. Stephen's Community House, Citations from American Red Cross and American Legion. Homer was vice-president of Central Ohio Labor Council and past board member of St. Stephen's Community House. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m., Pastor Gary Tucker, officiating. Entombment at Northlawn Memory Gardens. Thanks to The James Cancer Center for all their help and care provided to Homer, especially Dr. "O". In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Charity Newsies, United Way or St. Stephen's Community House.

I worked with Homer at United Way and he was such a character. I loved his big personality and how sweet he could be. He contributed so much to the community and to so many peoples lives that he will never be forgotten. Homer will be greatly missed here.
